Alexandria in winter is an utterly bleak collection of strip malls just off I-94, but this Super 8 would be a good shelter if you get stranded there. The room was pleasant, the manager was super nice, and breakfast was a nice bonus. Even the price was nice.

I'm 19 and was driving home for Thanksgiving when the roads got awful near Alexandria. I'd never booked a hotel without my parents helping before, but the amazing manager and front desk worker made me feel at home and handled everything. Thank you, Rebecca, and to the front desk woman whose name I didn't catch. Everything was lovely, and there are plenty of nearby places like Target and McDonald's. My whole Thanksgiving week was made better by the hospitality. I'll definitely come back, and I wish I could keep writing.

The rooms were just okay, and mine smelled like smoke. The bedroom and pillows were fine, nothing special. But the breakfast was great, and the coffee was strong and full of flavor. That's what mattered most to me, so nice job, folks.

My friend is leaving this review too. We're both 19 and were driving home from college for Thanksgiving break, a five-hour trip, when a snowstorm stranded us in Alexandria. The staff got us a room quickly and were so accommodating, nice, and helpful. I'm really grateful to them.

The room was fresh and clean, and everyone on staff was very nice. At 1 a.m., the front desk arranged a pizza for us without hesitation.
