Hilton Garden Inn Alexandria Old Town National Harbor

The parking was inconvenient and cost $40 a night. I travel to this area often for work and won’t stay here again, though I’ll keep using Hilton Alexandria or Mark Center. I’m a Diamond member and was upgraded to a corner suite, but the heating unit serving those suites on every floor went out. The night staff did their best to help and moved as many guests as they could, but couldn’t move me. My room was 56 degrees. They lent me a space heater to put on the bedside table and brought four comforters and blankets, but I was still freezing. I didn’t receive any compensation in points or a refund.

It was a very cold night, and only when I called the desk in the morning for help with the thermostat did they tell me the HVAC wasn’t working. They offered a portable heater that I could pick up at the desk. As Hilton Honors guests, we hadn’t been told at check-in that the rooms had no heat, so we spent the night cold before anyone offered a heater. I’m very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend this place. Call to check that the heat works before booking.

I’ve only been here to host events, but the lobby has always seemed clean and I haven’t had issues with the staff. Everyone’s friendly and helpful. Mohammad, the restaurant and bar manager, has taken great care of me and my guests. A 10 out of 10 for me. Thanks, I’ll be back.

The place is pretty far from the capital and Washington, DC sightseeing spots. Our reservation through Wyndham Vacation was for October 31 to November 2, 2025. They apparently entered the wrong email or phone number, and the hotel says that’s why they couldn’t contact me. I’ve never had a problem with a late checkout before. They say I needed proof of approval, but everything was handled at the front desk and I didn’t get proof, so they charged me for an extra night. They also claim our things were still in the room around 2 PM, but that’s impossible because we were on a tour at that time and never returned. We had a tour booked for 2 PM, about a 30-minute drive away depending on traffic. I spoke with two managers, Nick Otero and Laura. They told me there was nothing they could do. I’d be happy to remove this review if we reached a resolution.
