Super 8 Alexandria Macarthur

We'd driven 16 hours from Chicago and checked in around 11:30 at night after booking two rooms for five nights at short notice. In the first room, bugs of all sizes scattered as soon as we turned on the light. They were all over, including in the bathroom, and the place was filthy. The second room had the same problem, though fewer bugs, plus a nasty bathroom and a man's boot print on the floor. We didn't even check by the bed. We turned around and checked out. The woman at the desk didn't apologize, just said, "Oh, I thought they took care of that." I should have read the reviews first. This place should be closed.

I had to book here again for work, but now I'd rather pay for my own hotel than come back. On my first stay, the bed was wet. When I asked to move, I was told all the rooms were the same. The carpet felt sticky when I took my shoes off, and it smelled odd. They'd used so much perfume to cover the mildew smell that I woke with a headache from the combination.

The room had stained sheets, worn carpet that badly needs replacing, and a smell like spoiled butter and dirty wet socks. The gas station across from my room stayed busy and loud, and people next door seemed to be running a drug ring. I didn't expect much for the price, but this was worse than I imagined. Then they charged me twice for the room. My first and last stay at any Super 8, and I wouldn't recommend it.

The room was clean, though in disrepair, and the sheets didn't fit the beds. Staff were polite, but that was the good part. We were put in a room beside a busy gas station that runs 24 hours a day, so it was very noisy. The bigger concern was the late-night activity coming from the room across the hall. At first we thought it was a prostitute, but there was so much door knocking and commotion that it seemed like more than that. Don't think twice, just don't stay here.
