This was the room I paid for, and this is what it looked like. They charged $80 plus tax for the room and took a $100 deposit. The man at the front desk didn’t seem to care about the condition, though he said he’d informed maintenance. I hope they don’t charge me for the damage. My wife isn’t sure she wants to sleep in the bed, so I’m sleeping in the car.

On July 21st, the property charged my card to book a room without my authorization, even though nobody stayed there. I consider that theft, and expect the owners or upper management to investigate. The workers, customer service, and manager seem to be covering for one another. The manager gave me a name that doesn’t even exist, or perhaps it was a nickname, which feels like another attempt to shift blame. I’m going to pursue this with the Allentown Police and keep messaging until someone responds. I hope taking my money was worth it. Don’t let them steal from you at the econo Lodge in Allentown Pennsylvania.

The pool was refreshing, and the clean, comfortable bed and great AC were welcome. The room was okay for the rate, though the tub’s drain plug was broken, it needed a serious scrub, and there were a few small burn holes in the carpet by the bed. Breakfast was less than desirable, and the staff apologized but didn’t give much information. I waited over an hour past check-in time for the room, even though I’d checked in just to use the pool. They did let us wait at the pool. Call ahead to make sure your room is ready. Decent for one night at the $55 rate, but be aware there are local long-term renters on the property.

The room was gross, and I left almost as soon as I got there. I was only inside for five minutes, maybe five seconds, before finding that the bathroom didn’t work, the toilet and bed were nasty, and the towels were so dirty I threw them in the trash. They still charged me and wouldn’t give my money back. It was nothing like what they show on TV or advertise.
