The Americus Hotel Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The Americus Hotel's historic charm is what makes it a gem. If you enjoy beautifully restored, historically preserved places, it's worth staying at when you're in the Allentown, PA area. Our family spent the weekend there and really enjoyed it. The two-bedroom suite was spacious and nice, the staff were friendly and helpful, valet was fast, and the dining area looked lovely. The Americus Hotel recently joined the Hyatt portfolio, so as Hyatt Globalists we wanted to give it a try. We look forward to coming back.

The room was spacious, and the hotel's historic character was a plus. Beyond that, though, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend it for an event or special occasion. The couch was broken, the window wouldn't close properly and let in constant street noise, and our suite had two closets but not a single hanger. Thank goodness we brought some from the dry cleaners. The place had been renovated just a few years ago, so the lack of upkeep and care for guest comfort was surprising. We were part of a large wedding party and found the staff unfriendly. I'd called twice to confirm our complimentary early check-in, but when we arrived no one at the front desk seemed to know about it. They tried to charge us for an early check-in of 2 hours, which I found shocking for a wedding party our size. The Renaissance down the road has smaller rooms, but it's definitely a better option.

Parking can be difficult if you handle it yourself, but valet made it easy and was absolutely worth it. The Americus Hotel was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with a great atmosphere. Staff were friendly and professional throughout. I had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone visiting Allentown, especially if you use valet.

The Skyline Ballroom looked beautiful for my birthday party, and everything went perfectly. The food and catering were excellent, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Service was outstanding from beginning to end. I'd highly recommend the venue for a party or celebration.
