Quality Inn & Suites Alma I-40

I'd guess the people behind the hotel's 4.1 Google rating weren't put in the pet-friendly rooms out back. I was traveling with a Service Dog, not a pet, but was refused any room except one behind the hotel. I've never seen a more run-down place. I expect at least Motel 6 quality from a Choice hotel. The tub and bathroom walls were visibly peeling, chairs had stains where you really don't want stains, and bedspreads had burn holes, tears, and stuffing coming out. I also can't believe there are still smoking rooms. I'm allergic, and that's the room I was first given. In more than 60 years, this is only the second time I've asked for a refund and walked out. Nasty, nasty, nasty, at least in the pet-friendly rooms. If you're traveling with a Service Animal, I'd reconsider staying with any Choice hotel. I have their credit card and am a "platinum" member, but was never thanked or recognized. I won't stay at their hotels again. The owner's response was poor and inaccurate. I wasn't moved because of my service animal, but because the room was listed as smoking. I don't know how it ended up that way in their system. I told the attendant I couldn't stay in a smoking room, so she moved me to another "Pet Friendly" room. That one was worse: the tub and shower had large, obvious peeling that couldn't be missed, and I forgot to mention the awful, numerous stains on the only chair I could sit on. I don't know what they use the "pet fee" for, but it clearly isn't cleaning or upkeep. I'm tired of owners giving inadequate replies to complaints. You shouldn't have to say you're traveling with a service animal, since it isn't supposed to affect the room type you get.

The staff were very accommodating and arranged our multiple rooms so our family could stay near each other. The rooms were very clean, with fresh linens and plenty of towels. I'd stay here again.

After staying at several Comfort Inns on this trip, we found this hotel didn't measure up to their other locations. The room was clean but worn, and the bed wasn't as comfortable as the beds at the Comfort Inns. The breakfast buffet disappointed us, and at check-in we waited a long time for someone to come to the desk. When we left, no one was there at all. Those were a few of the issues we noticed.

Everything was fine and very clean, though the hotel could use some updating. The towel rack was loose, the shower curtain hem was frayed, and there should be more outlets. I saw people using an extension cord.
