We’d stayed here last month and had a lovely visit. The man at the desk was great then, and he checked us in again this time. I was a little unsure about choosing a motel, but the room was fine. We came back Saturday after our daughters’ dance competition, spent some time in the room, went out for dinner, then returned to hang out before swimming. While we were there, a loud bang from the room below startled all of us. It happened again, and we realized someone downstairs was hitting the floor. A few minutes later the front desk called about a noise complaint. It was only 7 p.m. The employee was kind, but I was upset that a complaint had been made. She said the first call came around five, just before we left for dinner, and that the man downstairs said it sounded like a herd of elephants upstairs. That seemed hard to believe, especially since an older gentleman we’d just seen at dinner had complimented us on how well behaved our kids were. Our daughters are 9 and 10 and weren’t running around, and our little boy is one, hardly an elephant. The banging made my girls scared of the man below us, and they felt uncomfortable for the rest of the weekend. I spoke to the front desk employee, showed her my children, and explained that we weren’t being loud and what the man had done. She said she’d called her supervisor and was waiting to hear back, but nobody ever followed up with us. We went swimming, then straight to bed. The next morning we packed quickly, ate breakfast early, and left.
