I left early and changed my flight because I couldn’t face a third night. After just two nights, I had bites all over my hands, arms, body, and legs from bed bugs in my unit. There wasn’t even anything to set luggage on to keep it off the carpet, so for all I know my belongings may be infested too. I booked through booking.com, and they said they couldn’t compensate me for the trouble. The man at the front desk was nice, so I don’t blame him, but I was shocked.

Max was rude and awful. We booked and paid for a room the same day while we were on the road, then called to ask if we had to arrive by a certain time since we were driving in from out of state and would be late. We were told there was no cutoff and we could check in any time after 4 pm. We arrived around 2 am and were told they were sold out, with no rooms available to accommodate us. It was very disappointing to be left searching for another room on Valentine’s Day in an unfamiliar area. I’ll never stay there.

I’ve stayed at some of the Sonesta hotels in the area regularly for work over the past few years, and they were very nice. This one has gone downhill dramatically in the last year. At 1 pm, I arrived to a filthy lobby with all the lights off and no staff on duty. I had to go almost back into the kitchen to find someone, who then had to wake the front desk guy sleeping in his office in the middle of the day. The lobby, halls, and rooms smelled of chemicals being used to cover a smoky odor. The room I was assigned had dirty, stained upholstery. Truly disgusting.

We checked in on Christmas Eve, a Wednesday. They told us breakfast the next morning would be cold and there’d be no housekeeping on Christmas Day, which was fine. But when we went down for breakfast the day after, there was very little hot food and no milk for cereal. Housekeeping never came by before we checked out Sunday. There was a strong weed smell outside, in the lobby, and in the hallways. The pet fee at this location is much higher than at others, and it covers only cleaning despite what the website says. We won’t return to this location.
