Ramada by Wyndham Altamonte Springs Near I-4

The staff were all friendly, but the room and grounds were dirty and poorly cared for. We only stayed because it was 1am when we arrived; otherwise we'd have gone elsewhere. There was a thick layer of dust on the baseboards, and a huge gap between the curtains and the window let bright outside light into the room all night. The shower spigot was detached from the wall, the bathroom floor had plenty of hair from strangers, the sink was cracked end to end, and the towels and bedding were dingy. Best I can say is that it wasn't the worst place we've ever stayed.

Our room was a nice surprise after booking at the last minute. It was clean, the bed felt comfortable, and the white linens were soft. I'd stay here again.

After three days there, I couldn't get into my room because my card stopped working. I was waiting for my partner to finish work and was about to go in when they locked my card. He came and opened the door, then they locked his card too. Housekeeping talked loudly and rudely about me while I was standing there trying to get in. We went to the front and had the cards unlocked and filled by housekeeping. The room had tiny black bugs that bit at certain hours, a big crack in the roof, and an AC that made noise from time to time. From outside it sounds like there's water in it, and bugs were on the outside walls, so I think they might be getting in that way. Later I called to ask about smoking areas because the website says there are some, and smoking isn't allowed in the rooms. The front desk was nasty and rude, talked down to me with an attitude, then hung up. When I called back, it just rang. Housekeeping never came by, and I needed clean sheets and towels. I'd tried to tell the desk before they rudely hung up. It was a terrible stay and a terrible way to treat customers. I won't be back or recommend it.

I needed a cheaper stop in the area before heading farther north, and this hotel was a straight shot north of where I needed to be. Free parking was another plus. I expected a dated Ramada, like the ones I'm used to, but the inside looked surprisingly modern and nice. The check-in woman was very pleasant, and I was glad there was an elevator. We were in the back, where road noise was an issue. Since we faced east, the rising sun came right through the curtains and onto the window. The bathroom and sink were nice. I had to move the two chairs because they blocked the AC airflow, and I wished they had a sofa instead. I needed to iron a costume and was glad an iron was available. We used our washcloths to remove makeup since we'd forgotten wipes, so I asked the desk for replacements. The clerk was very nice, and I liked his shirt and necklace. Checkout was quick, and I got my folio and was on my way. Being able to pre-check-in and check out was handy. I'd stay here again.
