The room itself was clean, but the furniture was worn out. Even the staff said the hid-a-bed was “probably broke, cause most of them are.” My daughter had booked a room by the West pool, only to find it closed because they were short staffed. The hotel is really run down, and the carpet is old and stained. The pool area looked clean, but that cloudy water wouldn't be for me. I guess kids don't mind.

The bar and grill food was great, and the lobby staff were all very helpful. We booked a standard room, so other room types may be different. Ours was cleaned pretty well, but the room filters were packed with dirt and dust, an easy maintenance fix. The beds are very firm, and one elevator got stuck and wouldn't open for a while. People also ignored quiet hours, which was sad. Hopefully the inn can address these problems and update the place someday.

The location worked well for Adventureland, with the Casino nearby and McDonald's right across the street. We also loved the Spectator sports bar and grill inside the hotel, especially the burger, one of the best I've had. Breakfast was tasty too. The stay was okay, but for what I paid, I'd expected a cleaner room. There were hairs in the tub, stains on the sheets, and half-used shampoo and conditioner bottles, which put me off. The front desk employees didn't seem very friendly, like they didn't want to be there. And the pool by our room closed three hours before the posted time, which was a letdown for my kids and me.

The location is about the only good thing left. The trolley is gone, so you have to walk to the park or drive there. We had a poolside room, but that pool wasn't open, and the pools were never all open. Hard to see how that room was worth the price. There was no housekeeping, and we couldn't get fresh towels. Water pressure was so low it was impossible to wash my thick hair, and the beds were VERY uncomfortable. The rooms don't have much in them, and the hall carpet looks like it hasn't been updated in at least 30 years, with major stains all over. There was an unpleasant odor in both the room and hallways. I have fond memories of Adventureland Inn, but the new owners have driven the hotel into the ground. I'm sad to say I won't be back. I wanted to make more memories there with my grandchildren after the ones I have with my children, but it's WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for such poor quality.

The pool was the one decent part, clean and with plenty of lifeguards. Breakfast had a big selection, but the food was lukewarm at best and there wasn't any butter. The rest of the hotel feels mostly unchanged since it was built 50 years ago. The rooms have been updated, but there's no towel bar, the TV stand or dresser is missing, and cords and a power strip hang off the wall. The beds are awful, with tiny half-size pillows. Our AC was noisy and only worked some of the time, and staff did nothing. One day a sewer pumping truck sat right in front of the entrance, loudly pumping very smelly sewage. I'm not making that up. People should know this may not be a great stay.
