There's a spacious patio outside, and the reception area has a bar with chairs and several TVs. The complimentary breakfast is served next to it. We didn't get a chance to use the pool or hot tub, but people who had used them told us they had a great time. It's a very nice hotel, with welcoming staff and rooms that had just what we wanted. It's as nice as any place I've stayed, and we'll definitely return.

Kiki gave us amazing service. We were passing through and made a late reservation, and she got us checked in at the front desk, helped us get to our room and took care of us really well. We could use the laundry, enjoy the hot tub and have a great breakfast while we were there.

The kids' AAU state wrestling brought us here, and we had a great stay. It's very, very clean, with a great breakfast and amazing, kind staff, even with all the rambunctious kids. Downtown Des Moines wasn't far. We ate at the burger shack next door, and Bass Pro is right down the street.

The rooms were comfortable, clean and spacious, and the shower was one of the best I've ever had in a hotel. The grounds were well lit, with lots of grassy space for our two dogs, and they even had dog treats. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was better than what competing hotels offer, then sat outside with the dogs, visiting family and taking in the lake view. We often travel to Des Moines to see family, but this was our first time at the Hyatt Place. The desk hostesses were friendly, efficient and helpful. It'll be our first choice for future trips.

We stopped overnight while passing through, and the pet-friendly place meant we could hang out with doggos while sitting at the lobby bar. After a day of driving, it was a nice spot to get DoorDash and have a nightcap. The rooms were clean, with a good layout for visiting and sleeping.
