Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Altus

This used to be my usual place when I came down, and I was there just last weekend. At 5:00am, I sat up in bed and caught something moving out of the corner of my eye. It was a bed bug, and I saw both large and tiny ones on the bed. Thankfully I wasn't bitten and didn't bring any home. I couldn't sleep after that and sat at the table in a chair until around 8ish. They offered a refund, but at first the manager returned only my $30+ sales tax and asked me not to say anything, saying that would take care of it. Then they put me in the room right next door. I eventually got the full refund. I contacted the health department and learned that they were supposed to clear that room and the two rooms on either side, then do the bombing process. I was also told bed bugs travel through walls. I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

I had to wash and super dry all my clothes afterward and hope I didn't carry the bugs home or into another hotel. I didn't feel comfortable staying there any longer, even though they offered to move me into the room next door. I had booked rooms for my employees and myself from December 26th til January 1st. Once my employees went home, I stayed a few more days and switched to a single bed. While lying there, I felt something bite my back and found bed bugs. The hotel refunded only that night. They did not care.

We planned to stay another three weeks, but they seemed fine with losing a paying customer over $154 instead of the $1752.00 we would have paid, $584/4nights. One of my employees forgot it was checkout day, left his things in the room, and went to work. After the front desk called at 3pm to say they'd charge another night unless we got the belongings out, they charged me $154 anyway. We rushed over from work in Childress, TX. I had booked 4 nights for my employees. What a rip off, and a horrible way to do business.

The breakfast was lacking in everything, though the shower did get hot. The room was small but alright, with a wall of mirrors. The toilet wasn't bolted down right, so it teetered in the middle and rocked and clanged whichever way it moved.
