The pond behind the hotel was so peaceful, and our stay was a pleasure. Sweetie, the concierge and host, was one of the nicest people I've met. She worked hard to get us what we needed and quickly sorted out any issues. The place was very clean, and the price couldn't be beat. After this experience, we only stay at microtel and plan to keep doing that.
For a family of four, two bathroom towels weren't enough, and the room didn't feel especially clean. The remote looked like milk had been spilled all over it. Our first-floor room was convenient, but the first one had a cracked window covered with tape, so they moved us to another room, which was okay. The rooms are a little outdated, and the breakfast wasn't much to write home about. The French toast was like a dish sponge with syrup. We don't use pools, so I can't comment on it, though it looked very small. It was cheap compared with the other hotels the families were staying at, so it'll do in a pinch, but I wouldn't make it my first choice. If you want a good breakfast, this definitely isn't the place.
Sweety made check-in great and switched us from the third floor to the first so my disabled momma wouldn't have to go up as far. Just keep in mind there's no elevator. The walls were thin, but it was really quiet and we had no complaints. Our room was spacious, clean, inexpensive, and had a comfortable king bed for our one-night stay. The alarm went off at 6 a.m., so you might want to check that when you arrive. Breakfast was a little lackluster, though the service was amazing. We didn't use the pool. It's not very big, but seems suited to little kids or adults who want to relax. We'll save this place for another stay when we're in the area.
Our family needed somewhere to sleep during the power outage, so we were desperate, but this hotel was extremely disappointing. We had to carry everything up to the second floor because there's no elevator, which makes me wonder what the bellhop was for. The kids were excited to swim, but the pool was closed that night and still closed the next day, when it was also very dirty. The guest laundry didn't work either. Downstairs, the little shop had nothing stocked, and the coffee was lukewarm. Breakfast was boiled eggs that were already peeled and “French toast.” The stairs smelled old, like they hadn't been cleaned, and the window in our room had no screen, which seems dangerous with kids. The windowsills hadn't been wiped down, either. When we called, we said booking.com offered two nights for 240 and were told we'd get a better deal by booking in person. At check-in, she denied speaking with us and said our number wasn't in her call log. We called back, her phone rang, she acted confused, then admitted she knew who we were, saying, “oh yeah booking.com.” She charged us a higher rate, but we needed a place for our family. This was extremely falsified and doesn't match the description. I don't recommend it at all.
We chose this place because it was close to where we needed to be and we have Wyndham points through our timeshare. Next time, we'll spend the money to stay somewhere else. Check-in was nice, and they let us arrive early on Christmas Eve, but the room was concerning. There was what I assume was brown mold across the ceiling, and the trash in our supposedly clean, ready-to-go room was full of smelly food and rice from who knows when. There were bugs everywhere, either gnats or fleas, I couldn't tell, and it was gross. In the evening I went for a water bottle, but nobody was at the desk. The next morning I got a Gatorade and told the lady we'd taken a water the night before and wanted to pay, since nobody had been there. She acted weird and wanted to know what time it happened. She didn't have change and let me keep the extra dollar, which was cool. The ceiling and bugs are still concerning. Unfortunately, I only have one picture of the ceiling, room 110.
