Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Houston-Alvin by IHG

I stay here when I'm in town visiting my sister, and the rooms are always clean. They've been upgrading them, and the beds are now super comfortable. This visit was especially great because I left my iPad Pro behind. The staff called me, arranged a pickup time with my brother-in-law, then called again to make sure he'd collected it. It and its accessories cost over $1K, so losing them would have been devastating. That was caring, honest, above-and-beyond service. Kudos to the team.

I booked an accessible room for my manual wheelchair, but there wasn't enough space to turn beside the bed. The roll-in shower had no removable shower head, and the soap dispenser was across from the shower bench. I raised these issues on arrival. They had no other room to offer and said they'd look into a discount, but I never heard back about one. It did the job as a place to sleep, but it wasn't fully wheelchair accessible. I stayed here in early November 2025.

Ms. Jori was the best. She always smiles and is so kind and welcoming. I've stayed at many hotels and never come across such positive energy from a receptionist. The guy who checked us in that evening was nice too, but I look forward to coming back and highly recommend this hotel because of Ms. Jori. God bless, and please don't change.

The included breakfast was very good, and the woman looking after it was lovely. My room was clean and nice, and this is a good budget hotel. There was no bottled water in the room, which I usually expect for coffee or a drink. I was near the elevator, where music plays through speakers, and somebody left it on all night. A shrill singing sound woke me at 5 a.m. I mentioned it to Christina at the desk when I went out, and she apologized and made sure the music was off during quiet hours that night. I'd stay here again.
