The location is great, and the apartment itself was nice and reasonably priced. Security was helpful, check-in and checkout were quick, and being able to use the pool and workout area 24 hours was handy. But the pool is tiny and heavily chlorinated, the treadmill was broken, and the apartment needed better upkeep: dirty walls and floors, hair in the dresser, and cable that still wasn’t fixed by the time we left Friday. We reported it Monday and were told someone would come as soon as they could. Our unit was near the parking garage, where people honked for valet through the night. We found a box fan in the closet and ran it on high in the middle of the apartment. We could still hear the horns, but they stopped waking us after the first night. The building has a lot going for it, though maintenance needs improvement.

The location was amazing, with a convenience store right across the street, but the apartment and amenities need upkeep. The ice maker and treadmill didn’t work, and the tub stopper was broken, so we had to hold it to let the water drain. Broken bathroom door trim was also a tripping hazard, and the pool was filthy. Parking costs too much, so don’t rent a car, just use Uber. This could be the perfect spot if they maintained the apartments and amenities.

The bed was comfortable and it’s a good area for walking, but that’s about it. Our room had plumbing problems, the pullout sofa was broken and had no mattress, and our key wouldn’t open the fitness room or pool. The front desk couldn’t help with any of it. There’s no parking at the property either, so we had to pay $25 a day to park a block away.

Our first Stay Alfred stay was awesome. For the price, the stylish amenities and personal touches were hard to beat, and it was a great change from a regular hotel. I can’t wait to try another Stay Alfred property.

Great spot, within walking distance of Bourbon Street and the trolley. The pool and gym are nice amenities, and the building is quiet with easy fob access.
