Ocean Dunes at Amagansett

Dimitri, the property manager, was helpful, kind, and patient from my very first call, and the care he showed set the tone for our week. Everyone we encountered seemed to do their best to meet our needs. The grounds are magnificent, with a pool, a lovely nature walk over the Double Dune Preserve to the beach, and a great view from our room. It’s very quiet, to the point that you need to whisper on your deck or by the pool. That suited us, though it won’t work if you’re after more activity. Our unit was sufficient, which is why I gave four stars; otherwise, this would be a 5+. We’ll be back to this peaceful spot in Amagansett.

The attitude toward guests was the worst part. The people working there were unfriendly, and the superintendent may greet guests with F.U. words. Ocean Dunes, Amagansett, NY also felt old and in need of an update. Pets aren’t allowed, and the front door has to be slammed shut or there’s a $250 fine. I wouldn’t recommend staying there, and it wasn’t worth the money. I’ll tell colleagues and friends about my negative experience.

Late September was lovely, with nice weather and sunsets, and the Hamptons felt pretty isolated in a good way. My husband and I loved the calm, relaxing setting and the magical feel of the Ocean Dunes Apartments area and location. The apartment itself was far from perfect, though. Martin, the nicest!

The Ocean Dunes Apartments sits right by the ocean, with local shops and restaurants an easy walk away. It’s private, secure, and peaceful, in the heart of The Hamptons and not far from Montauk. We had a fantastic, relaxing week away from Manhattan and could enjoy both the beach and pool. I stayed with my fiancée over the 4th of July weekend in summer 2020, during the pandemic. The pool has lounge chairs and umbrellas, and there’s also a private beach with them. A two-minute stroll along the boardwalk takes you to one of the nicest beaches in The Hamptons. Best of both worlds. We look forward to coming back.
