Cameron kept checking that the food was stocked while she ran the kitchen. We had one of the best hot breakfasts in a long time. The hotel itself was top of the line, very clean, and had huge rooms. We highly recommend it.

The Texas-shaped waffles were a highlight, and breakfast was great. Check-in was quick and easy. My room was clean, and although the hallway was being renovated, it was very quiet. It's close to a museum and lots of Route 66 attractions, and well worth the price.

We paid $300 for a big suite, hoping to have a good time. There were four guests upstairs who planned to use the pool. We accidentally went through the wrong door near the pool, which set off an alarm. The front desk woman came over stomping, then yelled, “OH MY GODDD,” and growled, apparently thinking we couldn't hear her over the alarm. She reached behind the first pool doors, maybe trying to turn it off, but the alarm got louder. I went upstairs for my pool key, and she told my guests everyone had to leave because someone had pulled the fire alarm. They left. The person who rented the room and I went down to ask what was happening. She again said someone pulled the alarm and we had to leave. I asked her to show the cameras if we had done that, but she couldn't. She claimed people had been running scared from their rooms, though we had guests in ours and nobody heard a fire alarm. This was all before 10. She said the alarm had gone off before and she was frustrated dealing with it, but that wasn't a reason to take it out on us. She kicked us out, and we lost the $300. First she blamed us for pulling the fire alarm, then said people were running from their rooms. She never came to tell us to leave when it first went off. We tried to talk it through, but she was cracking her neck, stomping, and yelling. The hot tub was nasty and green, and two of my cousins gagged from it. We didn't get to swim, and I'm sorry we used the wrong door by mistake. Then she tried to say our room smelled like weed. If they can't blame you for one thing, they'll try to find something else. We had the hot tub going, and I'm sure they'd have smelled weed if that had been true. We even had our aunt go up and smell the room because she wanted to lie.

For anyone hoping to arrive late, get some rest after a long drive, and leave feeling rested, I'd suggest one of the other hotels on the same street. We checked in at 10:30 pm after eight hours on the road and hoped to relax by the pool before sleeping. At 11 am, checkout time, housekeeping knocked. We asked for extra time because we needed to rest before driving again. Angelica the Manager on Duty gave us until noon, but said anything later would cost a full day's rate. When we asked what it would cost to stay until 1 or 2 pm, the front desk again said we'd owe the full rate. That didn't feel hospitable. Choose somewhere else if comfort is what you're after.

The hotel was nice for its type and price, with breakfast and amenities. The front desk staff were pleasant, and housekeeping did a reasonable job. But the fee to bring our two dogs for my husband's work training was about $100. At 5 am, he wanted to study quietly downstairs, but the breakfast attendant wouldn't turn on the lights and told him, “you can go study in your room.” He wasn't bothering anyone, and there were tables downstairs, so that was frustrating. He shouldn't have to be told to study in his room like a grown man. Too many rules that don't make sense for guest service. I won't return.
