The hotel is pretty isolated, which suited me as an introvert, and it worked really well for us. Parking was $45 a night, but I was fine paying that for guaranteed parking. Breakfast was $15 a plate, and I didn't mind that either since it tasted good. Inside, it was surprisingly nice, and the staff kept looking for ways to make our stay easier. The food was probably the best hotel food I've ever had, nothing like the bad Holiday Inn deluxe breakfast I've had elsewhere. It's also hard to find a decent-looking hotel by the Rockaways that doesn't cost $500 a night. A couple of small annoyances: the shower pressure was intense, with no way to adjust it, and we got just two toilet paper rolls that were already half used. Still, a great stay.

The room was the biggest problem. We got room 606, where the heater/AC was broken and cold air kept coming in from under the unit. It was freezing and windy outside, so the room became unbearably cold. I have no idea how long the unit had been broken. After I called the desk, someone came about 20 minutes later and said it couldn't be fixed. They offered extra blankets, which wasn't acceptable with kids in sub-zero temperatures. Maintenance then said there were no other rooms and brought a space heater for the night. I was offered 50% off, but that doesn't make up for the lost sleep and stress. My younger child was unwell on our next international flight, exhausted from not sleeping. Getting to the room was stressful too. The digital check-in email didn't work, and after our flight was delayed, I called several times to ask for a late check-in and make sure we'd be accommodated. We arrived around 1:30 AM on December 19, 2025, with children, and the front desk staff member was not welcoming or friendly. The stay was exhausting and poorly handled, with little concern for guest comfort. I wouldn't recommend this place, especially to families or people arriving late.

We were sent here by JetBlue. Our day started at 3am, and by 8am we were stuck because of JetBlue, through no fault of our own. Paying extra to check in before 3pm was worth it. The front desk was helpful, and there's a gym, a small shop, plus breakfast from 6am and dinner from 5-9pm with a little bar. The bartender was fabulous. There's also an airport shuttle from 6am, running every 30 minutes. The shower was nice, and the towels were extra soft.

We ended up at the Doubletree down the road, which was very nice and friendly. After reading other reviews about poor service and conditions, I wonder if being turned away saved us from an even worse stay. I'm done with Hilton. We needed a room because weather delayed us at JFK, so I booked online through the Hilton app and got a confirmation number. At 1:00am we arrived and waited behind one other group. The front desk woman said they had neither our reservation nor the confirmation number. I showed her my phone, but she repeated that they were full and had no room. She wouldn't help us find another hotel. She also told me directly my card wouldn't be charged. We spent a while in the lobby finding somewhere else and waiting for a taxi. A month later, I found a $305.69 charge on my statement. I called Hilton Corp first, as a Gold member with a lot of loyalty, but all I got was an apology and instructions to speak to the hotel's manager. I called and explained everything to the front desk supervisor, who apologized too, then put me on hold to talk with her manager. When I asked to speak to the manager, she said the manager was on a call and unavailable. The supervisor had spoken to the woman who was working that night, who apparently remembered it differently. According to her, she had said there was a room and that if we waited, she'd get us in. Since we left, she said, we were charged as a no-show. I'm furious that this is the story being accepted, that nobody believes what happened to me, and that I'm out $305. I have proof I stayed somewhere else that night, but Hilton Corp and this hotel say there's nothing they can do and don't seem to care.

The price for what you get is pretty wild. I had no trouble with street noise, and the room itself was fine, though being on a major road means some noise is to be expected. For an airport hotel, it's okay. If I had a choice or this were somewhere else, I'd pick another place. The hotel has a shuttle, but getting answers about it was so difficult that I took an Uber instead. I also didn't get my F&B credit applied properly, and they wouldn't help fix it over the phone. Getting through to them by phone was hard in the first place. Service was poor. I don't expect especially warm service in Queens, but I do expect basic hospitality, and I didn't see that anywhere during my stay.
