Beautiful spaces and breathtaking rooftop views. The staff were welcoming and helpful, almost like family. The Eastside vibe feels great, and I felt at home right away. Love it!

The decent views and great concierges are the only positives I can name after living here for 3.5 years. My apartment has had a serious roach problem, along with trash left in the hallways, loud drilling without warning, just one working elevator for 30 floors, major floods, and a fire. The roaches became a real concern 3 months ago. Maintenance arranged an exterminator visit every 2-3 weeks, but I've since seen over 40 German roaches in the apartment, at every stage, including adults, nymphs, and egg sacs. I stopped cooking, using the kitchen, and having guests over to try to contain it, but it continued. The exterminator came last week, inexplicably after 4 weeks, and said it was “getting better.” I was glad to hear that, though skeptical since I'd seen two roaches in the bathroom the week before. After he left, I checked the kitchen trap: 3 moving adult roaches and an egg sac, in a clean kitchen I haven't used. After 3 months of this. I've never had a pest issue in 15 years of apartment living. I used to see 4-5 a year in my first few years here, then this infestation started as the elevator was being replaced behind my kitchen wall. It seems obvious to me they're coming from inside the building. I nearly didn't move in because two prominent reviews already mentioned major roach problems. I wish I'd listened. This has wrecked my mental and social life, with no end in sight, so I asked management to let me out of my lease early because of the infestation. They ignore that the exterminator didn't check the traps, and won't release me unless I pay a 1.5 month ($7k) termination fee. Management says that seeing 3 live roaches and an egg sac days ago is “not indicative of this taking months to resolve.” I'm sorry, WHAT??? Anyway, I included photos so prospective tenants can decide for themselves. I have not had a pest issue in 15 years of apartment living, and it is obvious the roaches are coming from inside the building (I'd see 4-5 yearly in my first few years and this infestation happened as they are replacing the elevator behind my kitchen wall). I almost didn't move here because there were two prominent reviews mentioning huge roach issues at the time. Really wish I listened.

Michael at 300 East 39th Street was a breath of fresh air after three days and over 20 apartment tours with numerous realty agents. He was friendly and knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted to help us find the right apartment. He showed us the options on his computer, walked us through the process, and arranged tours for apartments that fit our price range and size needs. We had to head straight to the airport for our flight, so he offered to use his computer to help us complete the application and make the deposit. I left feeling much more comfortable about my children hopefully moving into the building once they’re approved. I recommend 300 East 39th and Michael to anyone looking for an apartment and good customer service. A shoutout too to Shawn at Murray Hill Towers, Michael’s counterpart. They had no apartments available for us, but Shawn was informative, helpful, and friendly throughout.

I've met at least 10 leasing agents while looking for an apartment, and Shawn Jenkins has been the best by far. He was on time, professional, very knowledgeable, and helpful. He went above and beyond, making sure the building really matched what I need.

Shawn has been so accommodating and sincere while walking us through everything we might need. He answers our questions and tells us the complete truth.
