Deluxe Big Texan Multi Suite

The beer was incredible, and the food was some of the most delicious I've ever had. The atmosphere was just right, and our waitress was generous and very friendly. We had a perfect time. If you want something very Texan, this is the place. I’d love to see more of The Big Texan. You should go and see it for yourself. Thanks to everyone there.

The staff were friendly, helpful, and knew their stuff, and the entertainment was wonderful. There are so many food choices, and what we ate was delicious. The decor and props give the place a remarkable feel. We had a fantastic time, and it’s absolutely worth stopping by if you're anywhere near Amarillo. 10/10.

Harmony was right there throughout the meal, making sure we had everything we needed, and the service was very good. The steak and prime rib were good too. Still, I see this more as a tourist attraction than a great steakhouse. I expected something at least on par with Texas Roadhouse. Prices were a little higher, yet we had paper napkins instead of cloth and the silverware didn't feel as good. At those fairly high prices, I expected better touches than a chain restaurant offers. They do try to make you happy, and it’s still a place to see when you're in Amarillo, along with Palo Duro State Park. I rate restaurants by what they seem to be aiming for and who they compete with. I've eaten at truly fantastic places where a $350 bill feels worth it. Against those, Big Texan would be a 2 or 3 for me, but for the category it seems to be targeting, it's a solid 4. It didn't quite meet the standard I thought it was aiming for.

We took on the 72oz steak challenge at Big Texan Steak Ranch, my friend and I, and failed. No free steak for us. I was eating leftovers for the next three days, though, and the steak itself was actually good. The whole place has fun, over-the-top Texas energy, especially when someone is doing the challenge. Even if you don't try it yourself, the experience is worth a stop.
