For a budget stay, the help we got was the best part. I arrived very late with my family, and Manager RICK took the time to find us a room and knocked $10 off each room because it was Monday night. Estar or Esther at the front desk was also really kind and helpful. The building is older, but it was quiet, safe, and clean, with what we needed for a few nights. The dining room is huge, and the hotel is kid friendly. They may allow pets too, but call ahead to check. Breakfast was good, especially the woman making eggs to order. A few dollars per person as a tip seemed like a nice way to thank her. For a budget two-star hotel, it felt closer to a three-star stay because of how well we were treated. Just keep expectations in line with the price, it isn't a Double Tree experience for $69.

The room was decent for the low price, and the bed was comfortable. The hotel is older, but it worked fine for my stay in Amarillo for my mom's funeral. Breakfast was okay, though I expected better since they cook the food in front of you. The pool was padlocked and the hot tub was empty, with no explanation. My biggest issue was the card deposit. I expected the hold to disappear after checkout since there were no extra fees, but the charge went through my bank. The hotel told me they charge the card first and issue a refund afterward. I wish they'd explained that at check-in.
