Hampton Inn & Suites Amarillo East

A handy overnight stop with good parking and easy access. The staff were great, breakfast was great, and the pool and spa were nice. You can also walk to Big Texan steak ranch.

The breakfast had a nice range of options, from Western omelettes to waffles, and I slept well on the comfortable bed. The rooms have been updated, though some patchwork in the bathroom shows the hotel has been around for a while. I was there for one night fairly recently, and the friendly, professional staff made check-in and checkout easy. I'd stay again.

The room was great, but breakfast deserves the shout-out here. There was pretty much everything you could want: real eggs and sausage, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, muffins, yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee, and milk. It was all great!

I used to like this hotel because three years ago, after its remodel, it was clean and nice. The location is still great, but housekeeping and the cleaning of rooms and halls have become subpar. The room and hallway carpets hadn't been vacuumed at all, and there was mold all around the bathtub surround. It's unfortunate. I hope corporate reads this, because hotel management doesn't seem to care enough about quality checks or the property's appearance.
