Home2 Suites by Hilton Amarillo East

We stay here every time we come to amarillo tx, and our visit on may 22nd 2026 was amazing. Friendly people, clean rooms, and the best service around the amarillo area. Jeannie, thanks for making our stay so great. And don't forget breakfast! Thanks to the woman this morning for having food for everyone's diets too. A must-stay place. Thank y'all, Bonnie & Brittany.

The only real positives were being close to where I needed to go and, maybe, the women serving breakfast. The rooms were okay, but the bathroom walls were rotting, and that should be easy enough to patch. Housekeeping was almost nonexistent. There’s a sign saying rooms are cleaned every other day, but I saw staff maybe three times in two weeks. One time they left some dirty towels and seemed reluctant to take all the trash. The cleaner who came to my room always had a bad attitude. The laundry setup is awful: two washers and two dryers, with one washer broken since my business trip here last year. The dryers are dirty and barely dry anything. The one time I managed to do laundry, five people were waiting to use a washer, and each cycle takes about 45 minutes. I also saw a woman scold a man at breakfast for taking juice in a cup from his room, even though he planned to bring it back. Odd.

The location was confusing. We had to leave the highway, turn around, then drive alongside it to get there. There’s a delicious steakhouse and a bucees nearby, though. Our suite was smaller than I expected, with a strange curtain dividing the living and sleeping areas. The blinds didn’t keep enough outside light out, and the AC and heat couldn’t hold a steady temperature. We got too hot and too cold all night. The bed was very firm, and we both woke up with stiff backs, although the sheets were extremely soft. The shower could have been cleaner. The staff weren’t much help. I called the front desk for extra pillows and they hung up on me. When I went down, Tony wasn’t especially friendly. It is pet friendly 🐶 😺. We didn’t bother with breakfast.

We’d booked the wrong hotel and arrived at the wrong Home 2 to check in. Home 2 Suites East turned out to be the best! Laura at the desk deserves special recognition. Check-in, the room, and breakfast were all perfect, so the whole stay was perfect. Kudos to everyone who made it happen, and especially to Laura.
