I come through here every year, often several times while traveling coast to coast. The rooms are still clean, but they're looking increasingly worn: peeling bathroom wallpaper, a cracked bathroom tile, stains on the main room ceiling above the sinks, and a moldy smell in the stairwell. What used to make me look forward to staying was the warm, friendly welcome from the front desk. On this last visit, I missed that. The woman working when I arrived was dealing with computer problems and clearly doing her best, so I don't blame her. But the person on duty when I checked out was curt and unpleasant, and she had also been unfriendly during my second full day. The aging rooms felt less significant when the staff made guests feel welcome. I don't feel that way about the place anymore, which is disappointing.
