Fairfield By Marriott Inn & Suites Athens Madison

The location made getting around the area easy, and the whole stay went smoothly. My room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Check-in and check-out were quick. I’d happily come back and recommend the hotel to visitors.

The beds were really comfortable, and our rooms were quiet with high ceilings and huge walk-in showers fitted with rain shower heads. Everything was super clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was better than average, too.

The housekeeping was the one little snag. We didn’t get fresh towels and had to ask, though once I did, they were more than willing to bring some. I’m a mom and tend to pick things up so the room doesn’t get messy. The rest of the building was impressively clean, and I love the decor, the huge standing mirror in the room, and the super comfy beds. I’m loving my stay and will definitely be back. It’s the nicest, cleanest hotel in Madison.

Breakfast had no water available when I asked. I was told there wasn’t any, though bottled water was kept behind the desk and they gave me some with noticeable hesitation. I take medication that requires water, and I’ve never encountered a hotel breakfast without it. The shower also never got properly hot, only lukewarm at best. I’m a frequent Marriott guest and Titanium Elite member, so I expect basic hospitality standards like hot showers and water at breakfast. This newly opened Madison property has potential, and I hope management fixes these issues quickly.
