It’s easy to walk from this excellent downtown location to the shops, restaurants, tours, and harbor. The Victorian-era house has a lot of charm, though I thought the heron decorations were a bit overdone. After sightseeing, the wraparound porch was a lovely place to unwind. The backyard was peaceful too, and seemed like a nice spot for breakfast, if they offer it, or time by the pool. I was in The Heron on the first floor, which was convenient with luggage. Even though it was near the kitchen, I didn’t hear kitchen noise. The remodeled bathroom looked nice but could use towel or clothing hooks, a shower safety bar, and shelves for toiletries. Breakfast tasted great, but there wasn’t much of it. Nobody offered more coffee, and the food arrived before we were seated at the dining table, which made things feel rushed. We also found the Roku TV hard to use and didn’t enjoy watching it. It’s a beautiful, well-located place, but a few changes to comfort and service would improve the stay.

I love the area and we had a wonderful visit, including a walk around downtown. The pool looked amazing after improvements to the house and grounds since my last visit. There was new landscaping and lighting around the pool, and I loved sitting out there with a drink. I came back for two nights in August after visiting the inn a while ago, and Ms. Susan made a wonderful host. The new management impressed me. Her breakfast was very good. I’d never had a frittata before, and it was so light and fluffy, with fresh fruit and a sausage link. I highly recommend the place.

The breakfast was fresh and carefully prepared, much better than what you’d get at a standard chain hotel. The rooms were clean and cozy, and the staff made sure everything was in order. Susan, the innkeeper, was gracious and attentive, and made the stay feel more welcoming. I really disagree with the negative review that came before mine. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable and welcome. The inn has its own character, and I’d absolutely recommend it. I look forward to returning on another trip.

Sunday breakfast was fabulous, and so were the cookies! Miss Susan, the inn hostess, was sweet and wonderful from the moment we arrived until we left. My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to Amelia Island.Fernandina Beach, and it was our first time at a B&B. Now we’re spoiled and the bar is set high for future B&Bs. It’s such a lovely, comfortable spot for a short getaway. Can’t wait for our next visit!

DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU’RE MARRIED. The older innkeeper kept trying to flirt with my husband. She’s well into her 50s and needs another hobby. I’ve never felt so uncomfortable. She also did absolutely nothing, just sat back and watched everyone else work. The rooms were dirty, the hospitality was lacking, and the food reminded me of Hampton inn breakfast. Don’t waste your money here. Stay somewhere else. I would highly NOT RECOMMEND.
