Knights Inn Jacksonville at Dix Ellis Trail

The place looks humble, but the manager changed the rules while I was staying there. New neighbors asked if I had food, so I fed them. Then I was kicked out because they had been in my room, and the manager refused to refund me. He told me to sue him. I'm a disabled veteran, and I ended up sleeping on the ground during a frost warning. Florida statutes say he had to refund prepaid nights cancelled by management, but he laughed and said he was the law. He seemed to think it was funny. Don't stay here.

This place is filthy and smells like mold and old men. The doors are ragged, the toilet won't flush, and the towels and linens aren't clean. The soft floors are stained, the curtains are dirty, and there are rust spots on the walls and sockets. Even though my room was marked non-smoking, the covers had cigarette holes and there was a pile of ashes beside the bed. The online pictures are misleading. It feels outdated and distasteful, and doesn't deserve a star.

The front desk guy talks like he owns the place and will actually curse at you. If you or your family don't want to be sworn at, don't call here. Absolutely the worst service.

It was my first stay, and I wouldn't recommend this place. The room felt old and needed a full overhaul. My first room's AC didn't work, so they moved me. The towels in the replacement bathroom were dingy. At 1:00am, I woke to dripping water. The bathroom floor was soaked, and I nearly slipped because the light switch was by the sink and I couldn't see the water before walking in. It was raining, and water was coming through the ceiling. I put towels down and shut the door to muffle the noise, but didn't fall asleep until 4:00am. I gave the property the details in the morning and asked management for some kind of refund after explaining how frustrated I was. Through the third-party booking app, I learned they refused to compensate me at all.
