Towneplace Suites Marriott Jacksonville Butler Boulevard

The pool gets shade most of the day, with maybe two sunny hours in the morning. Breakfast was decent, and staff were helpful, including when they arranged a late checkout with my Bonvoy status. There was plenty of parking, and the laundry facilities worked well, though the lint catcher needed cleaning when I used it. Shopping and restaurants are close by. The room layout was awkward: I had to close the bathroom door to get into that side of the bed. There were only three glasses, which was fine for me alone but would be inconvenient with family.

This is my second business stay here, two weeks at a time, and it's been amazing both times. The rooms are clean, there are always fresh towels, and the staff are so friendly. I love this place and recommend it to everyone!

After eight hours of travel, I was hoping for a friendlier welcome. The associate at the desk barely responded when I asked about the digital key mentioned in my message, and I never got the key. Her attitude changed, and I was left wondering if it was because I was white. That's how the interaction made me feel. I'm a business traveler and a Hilton Diamond member, and I was trying Marriott out. The hotel itself is nice and reasonably priced within my travel allowance, but this was one and done for me. The search continues.

The rooms were clean and well equipped, but the rest of the stay was rough. At breakfast, several stations had run out of food while staff chatted, then the staff disappeared for a long stretch. The offering was already sparse. Check-in staff also seemed unsure and couldn't answer our questions. They said the hotel was fully booked even though not all rooms appeared occupied, and moved us to a more expensive room. It was late, and we'd driven over 12 hours, so we had little choice but to accept it. We were also missing hair conditioner and had very little body wash. The place felt dingy, and I don't want to repeat the experience.
