TownePlace Suites by Marriott® Jacksonville Mayport

The manager is fantastic, and the new facility is very clean with great amenities. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with a good-sized fridge and mini kitchen, especially handy for longer stays. Beds are medium-firm, though the pillows are quite firm, so a softer option would be nice. The heated pool is tucked into a quieter spot out back, beside a big outdoor grill and a table and seating area that would be great for a gathering. Breakfast was tasty, with waffles, scrambled eggs and another rotating egg option, protein, hot and cold cereals, juices, and a coffee and tea bar. The gym has what you need for cardio or weights.

This was our third stay, and I always feel a little sad when we leave. Eric and his staff are top notch. Everyone is friendly, from housekeeping and breakfast staff to our favorite, Charley. They take pride in their work, and you can feel it in the whole atmosphere at this Marriot property. I'd recommend it to anybody!

Everyone here is incredibly friendly, but Kelsie at the front desk was a real star. She went out of her way to make our four-year-old feel special, and you could see how kind and caring she is. I can't thank her enough, she deserves a raise. Thanks to Kelsie and the crew at Mayport Town Place Suites!

The rooms are nice and clean, and the hotel seems fairly new. The front desk staff were friendly, but I was charged more than my reservation, which has never happened to me at a Marriott before. My other main concern was the Tesla charging. I booked because there were several chargers, but every charging spot was taken by non-electric cars. Those spaces seem to be where the side entrance is, while the other side of the hotel had no parking problems. The desk said parking was first come, first served, which left me wondering what the point of EV charging is if EV guests can't use it. The Marriott app gives this hotel a high rating, but the overcharge and inability to charge my Tesla made this my worst stay. Maybe I'm a little picky, but paying about $50 extra before taxes and getting no charging access seems like a fair reason to be unhappy.
