Hampton Inn Amelia Island at Fernandina Beach

I called to let this location know I had the flu or Covid, and they charged me $890 to cancel. Management didn’t seem to care that I might have been contagious with the flu, covid, or norovirus. I don’t recommend them at all.

We liked the price and location for our two-night stay, and the staff were very nice and helpful. They had a room ready on short notice, and the hotel is within walking distance of beachfront restaurants. They also put out cookies in the afternoon. Breakfast was the typical free Hampton selection. It’s odd that I get a survey request after checking out about 95% of the times I stay at a Hampton, but didn’t get one this time. We had to switch rooms after the first night because the A/C wasn’t dehumidifying properly. The clothes we’d left out, along with papers and hats, were damp in the morning. We told the front desk and asked for another room. They found one across the hall, and we moved after breakfast. Its different A/C system kept our clothes and other things dry. I recommend the hotel as long as the room A/C is working properly.

The beach is a five-minute walk away, and shopping is everywhere. Employees were great and made the stay enjoyable. It’s close to everything you’d want.

We had a suite that was clean and comfortable, though pretty drab. There was only one picture on the wall, and the room kind of reminded me of a Super 8.
