Quality Inn & Suites Ames Conference Center Near ISU Campus

The person who checked us in was lovely and easy to talk to. For the price, it’s a decent budget hotel, though the building could use some remodeling. The courtyard setup feels outdated and a little uncomfortable, and breakfast had no fruit. The room was clean, but there were old stains and damage in the bathroom and on the ceiling. The bathroom was small with little counter space, and the bed creaked. The sheets were thick and warm, which I liked. Worth the money, as long as you set your expectations.

We were there for a craft show at the hotel. After checking in, we heard water running in our room and called the desk clerk. She came up to investigate and gave us another room for the night. We appreciated her help.

The room smelled strange, there were flies throughout the property, and the location felt quite remote. The room itself was filthy, with black mold in the bathtub. Breakfast was poor too: undrinkable coffee and stale cereal. The pool was only three feet deep, and the whole place felt so sketchy that I was afraid to get in. The faucet dripped, and one of the light switches did nothing.

This place was filthy. I was told to come to the front desk for clean towels instead of having them brought to my room like at other hotels. While I waited, the worker kept chatting, then helped someone who arrived after me. There was nasty hair on the sheets and the shower was filthy. I don’t think the place gets cleaned regularly. Breakfast was terrible. Such a disappointment.
