The place was clean, and my room was really nice for the price. A friendly young woman greeted me with a smile and was very helpful. I’d happily stay here again.

I liked the great price, clean room, friendly staff, and comfortable bed enough that I’ve already booked for my return visit. One small thing: the light by the bathroom mirror was a little dim.

The staff feel like family, and they’re always ready to help. It’s quiet here, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the price is hard to beat. The whole place has a nice vibe if you’re looking to relax. A hidden gem, especially after the rooms were redone.

We booked a month ahead through Travelocity for $200, since we were coming to Ames for an ISU football game. We’d also called to ask about early check-in under the reservation. When we got there, no one came to the desk for 10 minutes even though we rang the bell. The owner arrived and couldn’t find our booking. He searched for another 10 minutes without asking us for proof, then when we asked if everything was okay, he told us to show him evidence of the reservation. After another five minutes, he said he’d had trouble with Travelocity. We explained that we’d booked in advance to avoid problems and were worried about finding a room because everything fills up for the game. He raised his voice, said it wasn’t his fault, and told us not to make it his problem. He wanted us to cancel with Travelocity and pay him cash for a new booking. Travelocity confirmed the reservation was in his system and tried calling him, but he wouldn’t answer. I felt he was scamming us. Thankfully, Travelocity found us a room at a hotel down the road. Yikes, consider yourself warned.
