Amherst Inn

You feel like you're staying with friends at this beautiful inn. The owners keep things clean and safe, and breakfast was amazing, made with locally sourced ingredients. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spotless, and several restaurants are within a five-minute walk. It was our first visit, but it won't be our last. We already miss Stubbie the dog. Thanks for making us feel right at home.

Breakfast has some standout options, including omelets made with local eggs and avocado toast topped with tomato. If you order oatmeal, be ready for a soup-plate-sized serving. This restored Victorian is right across the street from the Dickinson estate, and downtown Amherst is an easy ten-minute walk. The rooms are beautifully appointed, and the bathrooms are roomier than they look in the photos. Period furniture and hand-stencilled walls add to the beauty. An amazing spot for a weekend getaway!

Breakfast was really good, and the room was nice with a bed so comfortable I slept like a log. The owners were great, and Stubby the dog was a very good host. I came to Amherst for a show at the Drake and was glad I stayed at the Inn. Downtown was only a five-minute walk away. I'll stay again when I'm in the area.

We had a lovely stay at the Amherst Inn, and the hosts were friendly and accommodating. We arrived VERY late, so they left us keys and a room and let us finish check-in the next morning at a reasonable hour. That was such a relief after our already late arrival. The rooms are well cared for, and breakfast was just right, nicely made with good ingredients. One night we walked into Amherst and found a hidden speakeasy. The next evening, we used the living room for card games and a bottle of wine, with the well-stocked butler’s pantry available. A delightful time.
