Motel 6 Amherst, OH - Cleveland West - Lorain

For about $55 on a Sunday night as of 02/26, this was a great value. I was traveling through Ohio with a rescue cat and needed somewhere near Rt 90. It was only a few minutes off my route. It's no palace, but it was clean and worked well for traveling with an animal. I'd recommend it as a budget hotel if you're bringing a dog or cat.

We stayed on November 21, 2025, and the room issues were disappointing. First we had to switch rooms because the refrigerator in the original one didn't work. The replacement was meant to be non-smoking, but the room and linens smelled strongly of smoke. In the morning, we found a cockroach on the floor and took photos. That's unsanitary and shouldn't happen in a guest room. Staff offered only a partial refund, which I declined. Based on what we experienced, I can't recommend this location.

I've been here two or three nights a week for the past year, and the location is great: just off the highway, close to good restaurants, an awesome chocolatier, a wonderful bakery, and lots of other shops. Ashley deserves a special thank you for making sure I was well looked after. The other staff are courteous and friendly too. My room is clean, and the linens and towels always smell freshly bleached without being overpowering. No bed bugs. The staff have made me feel at home when I'm away from home.
