Sleep Inn Amherst - Buffalo North near University

We’ll be back. The location, clean rooms, and friendly staff made for a lovely stay, and breakfast was plentiful, tasty, and had a good variety. The dining room was clean and welcoming too. The only thing I’d complain about is the hot tub, which was lukewarm instead of hot. Amanda at the front desk was especially kind, answered all my questions, and explained the breakfast and pool hours. Our room was very clean. I had a minor problem with the heat, probably because I didn’t know how to use it, but Amanda came upstairs quickly and got it working. My two kids and I celebrated Christmas here the weekend of Dec 20-21, and I brought all our presents and even a little tree. Our first impression was that the place felt very clean and welcoming.

The room thermostat was the main problem. It didn’t work, the room got uncomfortably hot, and I had a miserable night trying to sleep. The hotel should fix that. The rest of the stay was okay: the room was nice, the hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the convenient location made it easy to get around.

I was a little uneasy after reading some reviews, but the stay turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Lauren at the front desk was cheerful, kind, and helpful. The rooms are small and dated, but clean and free of bugs, as I checked under and around the bed and mattress before settling in. The bed was comfortable, checkout is late, and the location is handy. Nothing fancy, but for the price it’s a good place to get a clean room and a good night’s sleep.

The pool and hot tub were a welcome treat after a long day at the falls, and the beds were comfortable. We liked this hotel enough on our way to Niagara that we booked it again for the return trip. The location is great, and everything was very clean. The staff really made the place stand out. Lorne and Chiara went out of their way to look for another room for us on a sold-out weekend after our car broke down on checkout day. We really appreciated how kind and caring they were. This is our top choice for another visit.
