At 9 p.m. we reached the hotel and found our key in a lockbox. Our room was at the far end of the second-floor hallway, with the door open, bathroom light on, and security lock holding the door ajar. That upset me. My husband checked inside and found it empty. The manager was off-site when we called, but said it was fine to stay. To change rooms, she said we'd have to wait for an email, register again, then go outside for a different key. We stayed. The room was dirty. The floors hadn't been vacuumed, the bathroom sink was still dirty, and there was a quarter-sized stain on the sheet that housekeeping couldn't have missed. In the morning, the Keurig had only decaf, no tea or condiments, and a used coffee pod inside. We were told breakfast started at 9 a.m., but when we went down at 10 on Saturday, the area was closed. I reported the dirty room and coffee problems to the front desk, and was told the manager would hear about them. The receipt came with the full charge and a $10 service fee for no service. No call, apology, or discount. I can't recommend this hotel.

The rooms were decent and the hotel was clean, but management seems content with a mediocre place when it could be much better if staff worked regular hotel hours. The doors are locked and front desk closes after 7 p.m., as many reviews mention. I tried to check out at 8 a.m. and still found nobody at the desk. Breakfast was only from 9 to 10, for some reason. It gave me the impression that the owner or manager doesn't need the hotel to succeed and that people do the least they can. I'll probably try the Anacortes Inn next time.

The mountain view was the only good part of a very uncomfortable stay. I was there for a few days in July 2025, in one of the more expensive top-floor rooms. It looked good online, but given the room and service quality, I wouldn't pay more than $50 a night. The supposed renovation of the superior rooms seemed mostly cosmetic. Under fresh paint and newer carpet, my room was small, dirty, neglected, and run down. The air conditioner sounded like an airplane taking off and seemed well past its prime. The bathtub drained slowly and smelled, and the toilet ran all night. I even wondered whether the floors were being mopped with toilet water. The hot tub area smelled musty, and dust was obvious around the elevator, lobby, gym, dining area, and other shared spaces. The front desk receptionist made it worse. She gave mocking, dismissive, catty responses to problems, told me off, and suggested I go somewhere cheaper. She didn't seem busy, just focused on her phone. I doubt she has a bright future in hospitality. Avoid this place.

We were made to check out at 11 p.m. with no recourse, and charged more than $500. The phone communication was awful. My wife and I both struggled to understand what we were being told, and the woman on the phone yelled over me, hung up multiple times, and threatened law enforcement. I travel around Washington for work and stay in hotels often. This was one of my worst experiences with hotel staff. She should never work in customer service. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't be surprised if the place went out of business within a year.
