I came for EXPO west and was nervous about booking a hostel, but it turned into a great stay. The people I contacted through the website were helpful and quick to respond when I changed things or had questions. I shared a mixed room with people from Colombia, Japan, Singapore, CA, and Oregon. My roommates and I became buddies during the Expo and checked in with each other now and then. The convention hall campus was about a ten-minute walk away. The desk staff were sweet and helpful, and held my bags before and after checkout while I worked. Go in with modest expectations for the rooms, but mine was clean and everyone I shared with was respectful about space, cleanliness, lights, and noise. If you want a reasonably priced place to rest near the convention center, this is a great option.

They went above and beyond when I needed to change my reservation after realizing I’d booked a hostel and would be sharing a room. If I’d arrived without knowing, it could have been a disaster. A1 customer service, they really try to help travelers have a good stay.

Great spot, really close to Disney. The staff are friendly and super accommodating. It’s a great choice for solo trips, and I’m planning to make it my regular place when I travel alone.

The price and closeness to Disneyland were the upsides. I came from Newberry Springs after crazy rain and snow, visiting from Illinois. I reached Disney around noon, went straight to the park, and had told the hotel I’d arrive late and needed a bottom bunk. It says 25 hour check-in, so I thought there’d be no issue. Getting there was confusing. Other hostels I’ve used clearly show the hostel name outside, but this one is inside a Signature brand hotel. I was assigned room 205. With a 70-pound suitcase, I struggled badly to climb the two flights of stairs. Outside the office, a man in sweatpants had both hands down his pants and appeared to be masturbating. Nobody chased him away, and I felt very uncomfortable. I stayed at Disney until midnight but missed the bus. I walked four miles in pouring rain after going the wrong way, then tried to dry off quietly when I got back. One roommate returned drunk and loudly moaned in the shower. Gross. I was there only six hours because my bus east left by 7:45, so I took an Uber to the transportation center. I only needed a place to rest between the park and heading back east, and didn’t even use the pool. I cancelled the next two nights as soon as I knew I wouldn’t use them, but they wouldn’t refund me and haven’t replied to my emails. The front desk wasn’t helpful about the refund and said it wasn’t their problem because they weren’t the company. There was an open bed on both the top and bottom, and I accidentally slept in the wrong one, but I didn’t want to be below the girl who thought loud bathroom moaning was acceptable. A weirdo was hanging around the hotel. I liked the name-brand yogurt, but I can’t eat sugary muffins. There was no protein or eggs, and the coffee was okay. I want my money back for those two cancelled days.

The location is nice, and the hostel price is acceptable. You can see the fireworks from the second floor. Breakfast is free, and while the coffee wasn’t the best, the juice and muffins were very good. There’s a fast-food place right next door if you want something different. I enjoyed the stay and will probably return.
