The room was passable, and the price is hard to argue with if all you need is a basic place to sleep after a full day at Disney. Getting there on foot takes about 15-20 minutes to the tram in the parking structures or 25-30 minutes through Downtown Disney to the parks. Those estimates don’t include security, waiting for or riding the tram, or park entry. We didn’t drive or Uber to Disneyland. It looks like the parking structures are about a minute away by car, and an Uber would be around five minutes and $5-10. Without a car seat we would have taken one, but the Disneyland lockers didn’t seem large enough for ours. Some of the practical details were frustrating. For 4 of our 5 days, a sign in the Budget Inn lobby sent guests to the Days Inn for help. Every ice machine was broken, so we had to go next door to the Days Inn for ice. The smoke detector in our room hung loose from the ceiling. One night trash was piled outside the dumpsters, and there were used earplugs beside one of the beds. I’d asked for a crib when I booked on September 12th. By October 27th there was still no confirmation, so I followed up in the Booking.com app and got no reply. I called the hotel on October 29th. The man I spoke to said they had a couple of cribs, given out first come, first served. He couldn’t promise one, but said it was unusual for all of them to be in use and that he’d note the request. At check-in, the agent first made it sound like they had no cribs, then said they had to be arranged ahead of time. I explained I’d requested one through Booking.com and called as well. The next day we came back from the park to find a Pack-n-Play in our room. No one had told us it was available or asked before entering. There was also confusion about breakfast. Budget Inn had told me we could eat at the Days Inn, but when I asked a Days Inn employee about the hours, he said breakfast for Budget Inn guests “wasn’t a thing.” Asked whether the hotels were related, he hesitantly called it “some kind of family deal.” Back at the Budget Inn, an employee laughed that the Days Inn staff didn’t know what they were talking about and said breakfast ran from 6:30-9:30. So, basic and reluctantly acceptable. It’s nothing special, but if you’re after a no-frills room within walking distance and can put up with some inconveniences, the price is tough to beat.

My husband killed 4 cockroaches in the bathroom, and there was hair all over the shower. The toilet was dusty too, so I had to wonder whether anyone had cleaned after the previous guest. We stayed only because it was so late, our child was asleep, and we planned to leave as soon as we woke up. Saving a few dollars compared with another Disneyland area hotel wasn’t worth it. This was the worst hotel I’ve stayed at around there, and I wouldn’t go back.

It’s an older hotel, but if you need somewhere inexpensive near Disneyland and mostly just want a place to sleep, it does the job. We could see the fireworks from the parking lot, though they were SO loud. Parking itself was easy, free, and there were always spaces. The walk to the Disneyland entrance was about 30 minutes. The room smelled musty, but the room spray we brought helped. The towels were old and had some stains.

The room had a musty smell as soon as we walked in. It was large, but the beds were crammed against the wall, leaving less than a foot to squeeze through sideways. I asked housekeeping to service it at 8:15 am and was told they had already finished, even though checkout was 11am. At 12am I had to walk next door to the sister location for clean towels because there was no manager at night. When I got annoyed that housekeeping hadn’t done its job, they treated me like a child. After I raised the problems at the office, they told me to call the manager the next day. The manager wasn’t working, so I was told to try again the day after that. The gentleman I spoke with was very rude. Don’t waste your money here.
