DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Anaheim Res - Conv Ctr

I've stayed in plenty of hotels, but DoubleTree Anaheim gave us a memorable stay from start to finish. Every staff member we met was fantastic, and the place was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Curlessa greeted me when I arrived, and her warm, genuine, professional manner made me feel like family. A few days later, I saw a customer speak rudely to her in the lobby. Curlessa stayed calm, respectful, and composed throughout. It was impressive to watch. At checkout, Fredy was friendly and welcoming, and suggested several local Mexican restaurants that became highlights of our trip. He went out of his way to help. The hotel should be proud of Curlessa and Fredy. Curlessa especially represents what a world-class hotel employee can be, and deserves a raise. We'll be back, and I'll recommend this hotel to people I know. Five stars doesn't feel like enough; I'd give ten if I could.

Paula, Fredy, Christopher, Angel, Stephanie, Jose, Maria, and Curlessa made a real difference for my family. They were knowledgeable and gave us excellent service all the way from check-in through checkout. I extended our stay because of their hospitality, and I'll recommend the hotel and stay here again next time I'm in town. That kind of front desk service deserves recognition, especially when so many places lack it.

The room had a nice view from the seventh floor, and parking was free for guests. The staff were friendly, the reception area, dining space, and grounds were clean and tidy, and we got warm cookies on arrival. It's a decent family hotel with an Italian restaurant, Starbucks, a bar, a gift shop selling everything from Disney items to Tylenol, and a paid breakfast buffet. It's not too far from Disney, though some other hotels are within easier walking distance. My family drove from Arizona to California for Disney. The room and hallways were nicely decorated. I was told the pool was heated, but I didn't try it. I did notice a smell. It wasn't urine or cigarettes, but the hotel feels like it needs an update in the next five years. Repainting, new carpet, and some furniture replacements could make it one of the top three places in town. We stayed in room 731, and it got cold at night. We followed the heater instructions, but the fan kept running and the temperature didn't change. The TV glitched on channels above 20, so we mostly watched local news like KTLA. I also didn't like the beds. They felt too saggy and flimsy for me. When I sat down, the bed sank with me. I'd prefer a firmer bed, or even a little soft, but this mattress and box spring felt too loose. We'd return if they remodel, and would be glad to stay again. For now, we'll try other hotels in the area.

The location is good and very close to Disneyland, but construction noise went on all morning and day, so it wasn't a place to sleep in. During our two-night stay, the TVs didn't work and were never fixed. We also weren't told at booking that renovations would mean a full day with no water.
