Residence Inn Anaheim Hills Yorba Linda

A pretty standard RI property, with good-sized, well-maintained rooms and friendly staff. The price was good for what you get, and rooms were clean. Outside there are basketball, a pool, and a heated whirlpool. Breakfast was standard but all good. Parking is free, though you need to get a pass at the front desk. My only complaint was the very low shower pressure.

The suite felt like an apartment, and it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and coffee were served daily in the lobby, staff were friendly, there were lots of restaurants and stores nearby, and parking was plentiful and free. The basketball court is in the courtyard below most windows and stays open until 10 PM. The constant thudding ball was annoying. Power washing the courtyard sidewalk at 6 PM was annoying too. Traffic is awful, so the location isn't ideal for most tourist attractions. If somewhere is listed as 40 miles away, expect the drive to take 2 to 2.5 hours.

Unpacking at home, I had a giant cockroach fall out of my bag onto the bed and start running. We caught it, but I never should've had to deal with that after a hotel stay. The stay itself was bad enough, and Marriott's response made it worse. I'm a Bonvoy member, though I've cancelled now. I contacted customer service, and their email said a manager would follow up. Nobody ever did, even after I reached out twice more. The hotel and Marriott clearly couldn't care less. Stay away from this location, and from Marriott if you expect them to care when something goes wrong.

Elizabeth took great care of us, letting us check in at 9 AM after a long day at the amusement parks so we could go straight to our room. The staff were amazing. The rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was full, and there was a pool and hot tub. Fantastic place!
