Crowne Plaza Anchorage Midtown by IHG

Tamika made a great first impression. She’s fantastic with people and greets everyone who comes in. My room was comfortable, the beds and pillows were fluffy just how I like them, and the bathroom was nice. There’s a restaurant too, though I didn’t get to try it. I’ll definitely stay again.

The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay from April 19 to 26, 2026, but several things we were looking forward to didn’t work out. The pool water was cold, so we only went twice, and the jacuzzi was still unavailable, as in earlier reviews. The hotel should have made that clear on its website, especially for guests visiting in winter or early spring. We also didn’t receive the bonus points for declining housekeeping because we’d booked through Expedia, which was another disappointment.

The front desk woman was very nice, and the bartender was super cool. I talked with her for a long time, and the food was really good. Still, the bar was completely empty on a Saturday, and the hotel itself seemed quiet and almost deserted. I’m older and not a party animal, but after a bad week I was hoping for a few distractions. The rooms were large and the beds comfortable, though the place felt a little outdated. Road noise was obvious, and I could even hear snow crunching under a car leaving the parking lot, which suggests poor window insulation or something. The jacuzzi wasn’t clean, and the pool shower was broken. If you were tall and leaned against the wall, you might get water in your face, but otherwise it didn’t work. It wasn’t luxurious, had no great view, wasn’t quiet, and didn’t feel like good value. It might be romantic to someone, but it didn’t feel that way to me, and there was no high tech. Not a bad place, but not a good one either.

The staff were nice, but I won’t be back. We had a group of rooms, and one had to be changed four times because of cleanliness and smell problems. In the other rooms, the keys kept needing to be reset. During my two-night stay, I had my keycard remade 12 times.
