I left right away. The room smelled awful, the bathroom was filthy and covered in random stains, and there were stains along the sides of the bed, human hair in it, and bugs under the blanket. It felt unsafe and unsanitary. Manager Yash tried to tell me he couldn’t refund me. Stay away from this hotel.

The room was the highlight: fresh, clean, and modern, with a great bed and linens, good lighting, and a decent workspace. The location also suited me, with subway lines about a 10-12 minute walk away, cool places in Boerum Hill and Gowanus within walking distance, and pretty quiet nights. It’s not right in the heart of downtown Brooklyn, which gives it more of a local feel. Service was just average. The desk staff were polite and handled the basics, but didn’t seem especially warm or proactive. For the price, it’s a good choice if a nice room matters more to you than fancy service.

The room is small, which is fine, but there’s nowhere to put your stuff besides a tiny bedside table right next to the sink. The sink sits outside the bathroom, tucked into a corner, and is so small it’s hard to use. One shelf hangs around eye level on the wall, making it both awkward and dangerous to use. The walls are paper thin, so you hear people talking and doors slamming all night. And the bed was the hardest, most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever slept on. I didn’t even know mattresses could be this hard.

The building across the street has this great way of bringing the 80s into the present. I also really appreciated how Yiesh looked after me when money was tight after my mom passed away following my hospital visit. I got emotional support, a comfortable room, and an early check-in. I love this place and recommend it. You may feel the same.

The biggest problem was that the heat in my room never worked, and I spent the night freezing. I told the staff at check-in and reported it several more times, but they dismissed me and spoke rudely, as if asking for heat in 27° NYC weather was unreasonable. The room was cold and uncomfortable, and that was completely unacceptable for a paying guest. At 10:30 AM on checkout day, a staff member finally inspected the room and confirmed the heat was broken. She was also rude and condescending, asking, “What do you want me to do?” after I’d spent the night freezing. The only offer was a 12 PM checkout in another room, made just hours before I was already due to leave. After that night, it felt insulting rather than helpful. I got sick afterward, which made the whole stay even more frustrating. The broken heat was bad enough, but the lack of urgency, empathy, and professionalism made it worse. I’m writing this as a serious warning to anyone thinking of staying here. If comfort, safety, and respectful service matter to you, think carefully before booking. This is a serious HEALTH RISK. I also submitted a formal complaint to NYC DCWP about the stay.
