Deal's Bed & Breakfast Inn

Deal’s Bed & Breakfast made a great base for our two weeks in Alaska. My wife and I stayed there three times, seven nights total, in two different King rooms while making side trips to Fairbanks and Seward and touring Anchorage. The Deals were easy-going and flexible. Leaving early or arriving late was fine, and they let us store a suitcase while we were away. There's a transit bus stop nearby, and the neighborhood is quiet. Breakfast was a generous spread, usually sausage and eggs, potatoes, cereal, fruit, pastries, juice, milk, and plenty more, with reasonable hours. The back deck is nice when the weather cooperates. The house was expanded and customized as a B&B. It seemed to have five guest rooms, each with its own bath. The decor has an 1980s feel, with pressed art glass throughout. The Deals have lived there for decades, and the house reflects their lives and family. Towels, beds, and linens were all premium quality, and the towels were especially luxurious. We strongly recommend it.

Breakfast was a highlight, with a good spread that included local meats like elk and moose, plus jellies. The house felt safe and secure, and the owners were friendly, almost like family. We also enjoyed talking with the other guests and hearing about their adventures. We came for a girls' trip in October 2023 and had asked for an early check-in, which they were able to accommodate. Our booked suite wasn't available, but the owner offered us a choice of two separate rooms instead. I had one to myself, and my friends shared the other. Both rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable, and quiet, and mine had access to a deck. The location worked well for us, close to the airport, with a bus stop half a block away that was easy to navigate. I highly recommend this place.

I love Deal's B&B. Kathryn is such a sweet person, and she makes a delicious breakfast. My family comes back every year when we're in Alaska for our family business, Alaska Bush Adventures. Our group of four had the family suite for one night on the way to Whittier for our cruise. It worked perfectly, with a King Bed and two Single Beds on either side, plus a full adjoining washroom. The complimentary breakfast was a great spread: eggs with cheese, rice, sausages, chocolate croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, and fresh coffee. It's a clean, safe place to stay in Anchorage, about a five-minute drive from the airport. Restaurants are also within a 15-20 minute walk. I'd recommend it over a hotel or Airbnb.
