The alarm the next morning rang for at least 20 minutes. I noticed a faint burning smell in the hallway, but didn’t see staff respond. The front desk clerk said she knew about it, yet while I was there nobody turned it off or called the fire department. The rooms were a problem too. The first bed had lots of hairs on it, long ones and many short, curly ones. We requested another room, but found a few hairs there as well and a strange stain on the comforter. We had to get ready and couldn’t move again. I took a few photos, though there were more hairs in the pillowcases and elsewhere. Even before that, the elevator was shaking hard and squealing each time it moved. It seemed unsafe, and the hotel shut it down after we used it. I saw an elderly woman with a cane struggling up the stairs, which was hard to watch. In our room, the shower door kept swinging open and letting cold air in. I left really disappointed. The place felt neglected and poorly managed, far below what I expect from Holiday Inn. Maybe the renovation will help, but they need to deal with the cleanliness.

The room was clean, and there was plenty of well-lit parking. Lots of places to eat nearby, too. The hot tub was broken, though, and the elevator took its time. I was stopping by in hopes of catching some rare Tampa snow, but there wasn’t even a weather channel on the TV, and I didn’t see any snow. I did spot some around Live Oak FL! The lake also turned out to be more of a retention pond. My girlfriend liked the pancake machine, even if the pancakes themselves were kind of rubbery. The hotel was pretty good.

Alexa’s warm smile and friendly welcome at reception really stood out, and she was always ready to help. Marleen also went out of her way to find a room that fit our needs. Their hospitality made a real difference. We had a very pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn in the Trinity area. The room was comfortable, clean, and well maintained for me and my family. I’d recommend it to families looking for a convenient, welcoming place to stay.

Milita in the kitchen was the highlight, making breakfast every day and being so pleasant and accommodating. The food was good, and the location was convenient. Our TV didn’t work, so we had to switch to a room on the bottom floor, which was very noisy.

To Owner: I’m not deleting this review. This was not a misunderstanding. I believe the manager was named Henry, and you clearly haven’t spoken with him. He called months ago and left a message cancelling my third party reservation. Later, I went into the hotel, where he humiliated me in public with other people watching and said I was banned. I had done nothing wrong. I wasn’t threatening or shouting. I was crying in my hotel room, and I’m not calling the hotel either. He let me keep the reservation, but still said horrible things I didn’t deserve. I’m still waiting for my full refund and will keep fighting to get it. During the stays I had there, I didn’t get the quiet, restful experience a guest deserves. I felt traumatized by how badly I was treated by the manager, and I was banned and publicly humiliated. I feel I was discriminated against. Guests have every right to complain, but the manager and staff couldn’t handle hearing about the serious problems. I see guests complaining about billing every day too, so where’s their ban? I’m pursuing legal action and won’t let this go. The rooms had old, not very clean furniture, and the phones didn’t work. Breakfast was disgusting. Food, juice, and coffee were spilled in the elevator, which didn’t feel safe to ride. Guests constantly slammed their room doors, and the front desk customer service was rude. This horrible hotel deserves zero stars if that were possible. It is not wonderful or excellent, and the reviews are based on lies. Don’t stay here.
