DoubleTree by Hilton Boston - Andover

We come here when my family wants a day away from home to enjoy each other's company, swim, eat at the in-house restaurant, and play pool downstairs. It's local for us, and we love the cozy rooms, comfy beds, and homey service. They even sell snacks right behind reception. This is our little getaway hotel, and we'll keep coming back. :)

I've stayed here twice. Both visits were fine, though I still prefer Marriott. My company paid for the stays, so I can't comment on the price, and I couldn't choose a particular room. The service was pleasant and check-in was quick. I liked that allergy-friendly cookies were available for free, even though the cookies themselves sucked. The rooms weren't bad, but nothing special. Neither one had a microwave, which surprised me. In both, the sink and mirror were outside the bathroom in a carpeted area. That layout might work well for couples or families, though. There aren't many familiar chain stores or restaurants close by, so you'll need to take the highway if that's what you're looking for.

Checked in and found poop and dried toilet paper on the toilet lid. I tried to get dinner at the restaurant around 7, but it was closed for a private event. Room service said they couldn't serve while the event was on, and they told me to order at the bar for the closed event. Not great for a work trip.

The building is old, and you can see some wear in places like the elevators. Still, it's a very good hotel overall, with a large parking lot and spacious, well-cleaned rooms. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It's a little hidden away from things, but close to I-93, which is handy for commuting.
