Staybridge Suites Des Moines North Ankeny by IHG

After several months of work travel, this has become my home away from home. Even when town events make it busy, the spacious rooms stay pretty quiet. The cleaning staff keep things in order, and room cleaning is available as requested. The bedding is clean, with soft and firm pillows. IHG Diamond Elite here, and I've tried other IHG hotels around the area. This is the one I choose: it's newer, modern, clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The staff make it special. Elena, the Director of Marketing, is engaging and really gets to know you. I've watched her handle her role alongside everything else without hesitation. Kyrsten, the Assistant GM, will come right to your room and fix things, like when my TV wouldn't connect to my phone. The front desk is attentive and friendly too. For longer stays, there are free laundry facilities and internet, plus a full kitchen setup with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, sink, cooktop, pots, pans, silverware, can opener, toaster, and dishes. They usually have something if you've forgotten it. Hot breakfast every morning, helpful kitchen staff, a friendly lobby for groups to socialize, board games for kids, and a guest computer and printer. There's also a patio with seating and barbecue grills, and pets are welcome.

We used IHG reward points to book this hotel on our way to AR, after spending four days in MN at a decent place while our truck transmission was repaired. I wish we'd stayed here during that repair. We've traveled a lot for work and stayed in dozens of hotels, and this is our number one. Worth every penny, and I'd gladly pay. We got lucky and used points. This is a new hotel, and whoever designed it nailed what you need for a long stay. The small touches really count. We had a suite, and I bet the full-size apartment suites are even better. I've stayed all over the country and Europe for work and fun, and this is my favorite place. The rooms are consistently clean and comfortable, and the staff are great. I recommend it to friends, family and colleagues, and I do stay here myself.

Between Des Moines and Ames, the location is just right, and the social hour has a great feel. I travel for work and personally, and this is my favorite hotel anywhere. The staff are friendly and the service is great. Rooms are modern, with electric chargers and a full kitchen setup: fridge and freezer, dishwasher, cooktop, pots and pans, plates and Tupperware. Come often enough and it'll be like Cheers, where everybody knows your name.
