Residence Inn Ann Arbor Downtown

We were there because my wife was having eye surgery nearby, and the hotel was very quiet. The room was clean and had an updated, newer feel, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was included and pretty good, though the turkey bacon looked fake and didn't have much taste.

The rooms were spacious, and the staff were gracious and attentive. I stayed in March while visiting the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor. It's a beautiful hotel, and I have to give the University of Michigan credit for sparing no expense on lodging for its graduate students. Couldn't ask for more.

The rooms are really spacious, and both the room and the facility were very nice and clean. It's also a great base for exploring Ann Arbor and touring the University of Michigan.

We left without staying in the room because it was in unacceptable shape, yet we still haven't received a refund for the service we paid for. The room smelled bad, had visible dust, and the sheets and bedding looked poorly maintained. That was far below what we expected from a Marriott property. My partner had booked the Valentine's Day stay under her name through Chase Travel, which uses Expedia as its booking platform. We reported the condition at the front desk as soon as we saw it and asked for a refund since we wouldn't be using the room. The hotel refused and gave us an email address for complaints. Marriott later said a refund could be issued, but told us to work through Expedia because it was a third-party booking. Expedia sent us to Chase Travel, and Chase contacted the hotel for us, but then said the hotel had declined to release the refund. We've been bounced between Marriott, Expedia, and Chase Travel without a resolution. DO NOT STAY THERE!!!!
