Red Roof Inn Annapolis

We booked at the last minute, but the room was filthy. My son started having an allergic reaction to a smell that seemed like an animal had been in there, so we had to leave within an hour of checking in. The front desk told us to call in the morning about a refund. I contacted Booking, where we'd made the reservation, but Red Roof fought the request and wouldn't refund any of our money. I'm very dissatisfied.

The only upside was having shops and food nearby. Otherwise, after staying here with my husband for work for a long time, I had to leave because it was expensive for what we got and the hotel kept getting worse. Our first room's floor was so dirty it turned our feet black. The shower was difficult to turn, the head couldn't be adjusted, and because I'm short, water went right in my face. It also drained badly and filled up like a bath. Then the door stopped working while I was at work, leaving my husband locked out for 30 minutes. It happened six times. The last time, the front desk woman and the repairman fought me when I asked for help. He threatened to teach me a woman's place for speaking to him. I was angry and a little sharp, but by then we'd been waiting in the lobby or outside for an hour. The front desk woman wouldn't move us until the repairman finally admitted he couldn't fix the door. A manager from the Best Western had to step in and make them call someone else. It was Saturday evening, and they were going to wait until Monday. That manager took care of it, or I wouldn't have had my things for two days. The next room wasn't much better. Ants covered the bathtub, so I immediately bought traps because the desk was unhelpful. Staff didn't like being asked for towels, and the maids often forgot to leave any. The sink was always clogged. I also left my necklace in front of the TV while I was at work, and it disappeared that day. I still haven't heard anyone found it. I'd also forgotten to pick up my key, and when I came back, the supposedly 24-hour lobby was locked. The night-shift woman didn't want to let me in, even though I said my name was on the room and tried to show my ID. She eventually let me in, but I shouldn't have had to fight to get inside. While moving out, I found an old Corona shot bottle under the bed, caked in dust, so it had probably been there a while. There's also a tree falling into the building. This hotel needs repairs, new staff, and lower prices.

They let my dog stay without hesitation, and there were dog bags ready for us. I had been unsure about the free pet fee, but everything went well and everybody was good.

The beds were very comfortable, the shower had great pressure, and the bathroom was nice. I didn't see any signs of bedbugs. The room looked clean, but when I moved the fridge and table to plug in the microwave, roaches ran out from underneath. Some of the wall covering was coming loose. It's okay for a cheap place to sleep for a night or two. Their pet policy could use work: they don't charge extra for pets, but you can't leave one alone in the room. What are you supposed to do with a cat, or if you want to go out to eat? You can't bring your pet unless it's a service animal.
