Holiday Inn Express & Suites Antigo by IHG

We came back for a second stay and were impressed again. The rooms, pool, and shared spaces were clean, breakfast was good, and the location worked well.

We’ve stayed around Antigo many times over the last 30 years and tried all the local hotels. We used to prefer the Holiday inn, but this stay was rough enough that we may look farther away next time. The biggest problem was the family in the room beside us: their young kids made a lot of noise late at night and again early in the morning. With check-in forms asking how many people and children are in a room, why not place families apart from adults traveling alone or in pairs? There were other problems too. The toilet was broken, some lights didn’t work, and the air unit sounded like a freight train when it ran. The doors slamming and all that noise made for a bad stay.

The gym is clean, breakfast is hot and ready, and the staff do a good job keeping the hotel up. My room was comfortable and clean. I just wish the TV remote had a sleep timer option.

I really like staying here. It’s always quiet, clean, and nicer than the hotels I usually get to stay in. Everything’s been updated, even the showers, which some hotels seem to neglect. The beds are comfortable, with both firm and soft pillow options, and the shower gets nice and hot with plenty of pressure. The staff are polite, friendly, and helpful. There’s a workout room, a pool, and a hot tub, plus a really good breakfast: scrambled eggs, sausage, oatmeal, and those famous cinnamon rolls.
