We spent January at Encore Countryside and had a great view of Superstition Mountain and some beautiful sunsets. There’s plenty going on in the park and community, from food trucks and BINGO to the pool and hot tub. Rachel, the manager, was friendly and helpful, and she dealt with our concern quickly. The park is clean, the sites are tidy, and residents seem to genuinely care about their part of it. The sites are on the small side, but there was enough room for us to put out our awning. The concrete pad is a nice addition to a camping spot.

The people we met were lovely, and we enjoyed our stay apart from the smell. Still, we won’t return to Countryside RV because management let serious maintenance problems drag on. The park has plenty to offer: Rachel and Meghan in the office were nice, and the park association runs daily activities for short- and long-term guests, along with dances, carnivals, potlucks, and weekly food trucks. Facilities include a clubhouse, pool and hot tub, billiards and craft rooms, shuffleboard, a large library, a media room with movies, games, and puzzles, a fitness room, and laundry. The missing amenity for us was a pickleball court, though there’s apparently one at a sister site a couple of miles away. The spaces are large and level, with hard-packed dirt for the RV, a cement pad on the door side, and another dirt area for a tow vehicle. Many sites are long enough to sit on or behind the pad, though a large RV next door can make things feel crowded. Public areas, including bathrooms, showers, and the laundry room, had cleanliness and upkeep problems. They changed cleaning companies soon after we arrived and things improved a little, but the toilets by the fitness center were a mess. One wasn’t anchored and tipped over, while the other kept clogging and overflowing. The maintenance person did what he could, and eventually even had to complain to management. A plumber finally came after the problems had gone on for weeks. Several times, we were hit by an awful sewage smell. We knew it wasn’t our RV, since our black tank only has pee and plenty of water, and the odor was worse than someone simply dumping a tank. The first time, it was so bad for us and others nearby that we called the after-hours number, which was Gene’s cell. He didn’t answer or call back to confirm he got the message or was doing anything. The odor seemed to fade by the next day, Friday, so we thought it was fixed, but it returned that evening and again Sunday morning, bad enough to wake us at 6 a.m. On Monday, while Charlie was dealing with the worst of the clogged toilet, I told him what had happened over the weekend. He said Gene had finally arranged to have the holding tanks below our site and several others pumped. He had also arranged a plumber for the long-standing toilet problems after Charlie threatened to quit. Nobody had called us to explain what would happen or when. The crew arrived Tuesday afternoon, and after that things were mostly okay. Guests shouldn’t have to put up with that kind of smell, and it should never have reached that point. Holding tanks at an older, busy RV park should be pumped regularly, especially near the end of winter. I’d have rated the stay four or five stars with better management.

We’ve been coming to this park for years. The park itself is nice, but the staff are what make it work for us. Gene, Rachel, Megan, and Barbara go out of their way to accommodate people. Just yesterday, our power started cutting out after hours. Rachel was on call, worried about us being without A/C in the heat, and quickly arranged an electrician. We had power back in about an hour. Thank you!

Our first winter here went so well that we’ve already reserved our spot for next fall and winter. There’s plenty to do if you want activities, or you can do nothing, or join in on everything. I’m grateful for the heated pool, and the residents are friendly and helpful. The office staff are great, especially Rachel.

I loved the quiet setting at this friendly, clean park. It’s a huge RV park right off the freeway, and it’s for people 55 and up. The staff welcomed us and worked around our difficult schedule. There’s a nice laundry room, shuffleboard, a pool, hot tub, and big patio slabs. Calling ahead to reserve makes things easier for you and the staff. I enjoyed the tenants’ Christmas displays and the sunsets. It’s close to 4 sons station, which has huge, wonderful pizzas. I got a delicious buy one, get one pizza from next door at 4 sons, but order before 5. I’ll post the sunsets I caught there.
